Special Menu "Mac to UNIX Text..."
UNIX text, while similar to Mac text, is slightly different. It uses "line feed" control
characters where the Mac uses "carriage returns."
If you have ever viewed text that you downloaded off the Internet with a plain text
editor, you probably saw what appeared to be the entire message on one line,
interspersed with some small rectangles. Those rectangles are the line feeds that
would have signaled a UNIX computer to begin a new line. Files that are uploaded to
Usenet, should be in this format. The "Mac to UNIX Text" item will do the necessary
conversion for you.
Note: This conversion should probably be the final step prior to uploading
the file as it's difficult to perform any editing (on the Mac) on a file that
is in this format.
